Truly Divine Performance
When the pipe organ in New York's historic Trinity Church was damaged beyond repair by contaminants from the World Trade Center collapse, organ manufacturer Marshall & Ogletree was commissioned to replace the original with a state-of-the-art electronic organ that would sound exactly like a pipe organ. Sixty Definitive BP10B bipolar towers were chosen to replace the pipes (one for each organ pipe) to make what has been described as "the most ambitious digital organ currently in use anywhere." The organ's designers knew that only a bipolar loudspeaker could reproduce the spaciousness of a real pipe and concluded that the Definitives "were the easy winner."

Monocoque, Non-Resonant, Low-Diffraction Cabinets
The cabinet of a loudspeaker plays a large part in its sonic performance. Diffraction, or the secondary radiation of sound caused by cabinet edges, grille frames and other protrusions, can color the sound of a loudspeaker. The design of the BP10B, BP8B, and BP6B reduces diffraction to an absolute minimum by flush mounting drivers on extremely narrow baffles with radial edges, which are covered by a frameless grille "sock."
In addition, the resonant vibration of a loudspeaker's cabinet walls and baffles can also impart unwanted coloration. The Definitives' monocoque cabinets are constructed of high-density medite with 1" thick front and rear baffles, foam dampening pads and internal braces. This virtually eliminates resonant cabinet coloration which could otherwise interfere with the pure sound produced by our high definition drivers. The BP10B, like the BP SuperTowers, also include an additional divider/brace panel separating the front and rear drivers.
Multiple High-Definition Cast-Magnesium Basket Drivers
The BP10B utilizes multiple high definition cast basket bass/midrange drivers (the same as used in Definitive's flagship BP7000 Series) for significant performance advantages in the areas of bass reproduction, lifelike midrange clarity and dynamic range. These sophisticated bass/midrange drivers incorporate deeply drawn mineral-filled polymer cones, combined with butyl rubber surrounds and dustcaps, high temperature vented voice coils and massive magnet structures. This combination of features assures high definition, superb transient response, high efficiency, high power handling and extended bass response. In addition, they are assembled utilizing an aerodynamically designed, magnetically inert, cast-magnesium basket to minimize internal reflections off the back of the cone and preserve structural and magnetic integrity under all conditions.
Moving Coil Pure Aluminum Dome Tweeters
The moving coil dome tweeters Definitive developed for the BP7000 Series are used in the BP10B. They utilize a specially annealed pure aluminum 1-inch dome, suspended by a silk surround and acoustically loaded by a precisely configured phase plug/lens, engineered to assure perfectly controlled, absolutely linear movement. This results in velvety smooth extended response (beyond 30 kHz), greatly reduced distortion, improved transient response, wider dispersion and notably higher definition. Magnetic fluid damping is incorporated for ultra high power handling.
Phase-Coherent Linkwitz-Riley Crossover Networks
The crossover network of a loudspeaker is the real heart of the system, as it is responsible for perfectly blending together the sound of the various drivers into a musically seamless whole. The sophisticated Linkwitz-Riley design used in the BP10B equalizes the drivers for linear phase and frequency response. This preserves the phase coherence, transient response and dynamic integrity of the signal for absolutely lifelike music and home theater reproduction in your home.

"The BP10Bs sounded awesome and these [BP7002s] WOW!!!"
I have had a pair of BP10Bs for about nine months now. I went to a local Hi Fi shop today to listen to the BP7002s, just to see what they were like. Definitive makes the most amazing speakers on earth!! I can't believe what these sound like. The BP10Bs sounded awesome and these WOW!!! Now if my wife doesn't send me divorce papers when she sees that I purchased these, I will be in awe for a long time to come. If you come out with something that beats these, I'll need a place to live and set them up! Thanks for the producing the BEST speakers at an affordable price.
"It sounds a hundred times better than in a theater."
With little space in my apartment, I chose the BP10 for the main channels and was surprised when I got home and listened to them. They sounded better than they did at the dealer. I liked them so much I got two more for the rear channels!
This was 5 years ago, and still to this day people come to my house to watch movies because they tell me it "sounds a hundred times better than in a theater."

I have had these speakers for close to 10 years. I have NEVER been as happy with a set of speakers as I am with the BP10's. In the old days I would go through a pair of speakers on average, every 2 years. I would pick out their deficiencies and buy something else. The BP10's are probably the least expensive speakers I have owned in my adult life, but have made me happier than any other audio product I've ever owned. Now comes the dilemma of picking out some new surrounds and a sub...Thank you Definitive Technology for a GREAT product line! You have a customer for life.

I have owned my BP-10s for 10 plus years. I have always been satisfied with them. Then what put them over the top is when I had a problem with them and the retail store I purchased them at all but blew me off. One E-mail to Definitive's tech support and the issue was resolved above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend Definitive to anyone that is looking for great speakers and great customer service.
"I have never loved speakers for so long!"
It might seem strange for me to be submitting a review, for the BP10's that I bought 15 years ago. But I have never loved speakers for so long! I love the wide and deep soundstage, that still preserves imaging. I have a nice audio demo disk, that guides you in assessing various aspects of high-quality music reproduction. And everything that the disk tells you to listen for, you hear with these speakers. I think you need to take a bit of care in placing these speakers in your room, due to them being bipolars. But once placed, the "sweet spot" (in terms of where the listener sits) is very large. Customer support is also great.

I love the crisp punch and how well my definitive speakers perform. I have driven my system for years. They have always impressed me or my friends. From my records/music to movies and even my games. Thank you definitive for these outstanding speakers.
I purchased a pair of BP10s 17 years ago and have been impressed by them since. Occasionally I think about simplifying my home theatre with something that takes up less space but then I listen to these speakers (paired with a C1 center channel and a PF 15 sub) and I stick with what I have. I reviewed speakers extensively, the hard way (pre-Google) and the BP10s were my obvious choice. I have recommended them many times since. Everyone is impressed with how they sound, especially in a home theatre set up. Even without the sub they have amazing bass response.
