Nothing complements your new high definition flat screen television with more style, versatility and sheer performance than the beautiful Mythos Series models. The Mythos Eight is an on-wall model in the critically acclaimed Mythos line of high performance loudspeakers. Mythos Eights come with easy-to-install mounting hardware that allows them to hang on the wall astride your new television. Mythos wall-mounted models are engineered to be placed flush with the wall and close to the sides of your television (very sonically-unforgiving locations) and still deliver realistic sound that is accurate and utterly unexpected, with lifelike imaging and remarkable clarity. Mythos Eight can be used as Left & Right main, center and surround speakers for truly exceptional on-wall home theater audio systems.

Superior Performance Mid/Bass Drivers
Each Mythos Eight contains a D'Appolito array consisting of two high-definition 5-1/4 inch drivers surrounding a 1inch dome tweeter housed in an acoustically isolated sealed enclosure. The drivers feature die cast Aluminum baskets, mono-polymer cones and Finite Element Analysis optimized magnet structures for clear low distortion life-like sound. The drivers are pressure-coupled to two 5-1/4 inch planar Low-Bass Radiators for a total bass radiating surface greater than that of a 10 inch conventional woofer. The result is exceptional bass extension not normally found in slim on-wall loudspeakers. The bass roll-off of the Mythos Eight is smooth and controlled, allowing it to seamlessly blend with a powered subwoofer, such as Definitive's SuperCubes, for audiophile-grade home theater power and precision.

A Sweeter Tweeter
The two active 5-1/4" drivers surround a Pure Aluminum dome tweeter whose dome is heat-treated to relax the crystal structure and then coated with a ceramic to produce extended highs that reveal nuance and shimmer without a trace of edginess.

Rock-Solid Enclosure
Mythos Series enclosures are hand-polished gloss Black aircraft-grade extruded aluminum with proprietary damping technologies that ensure total rigidity. All components are mounted on a resonance-free PolyStone baffle. These rock-solid construction technologies along with state-of-the-art drivers and tweeter serve to deliver classic Definitive Technology sound quality: wide soundstage, pinpoint imaging, high dynamic impact, and superb realism.

Ultimate Versatility
The Mythos Eight comes with a wall mount bracket that allows direct mounting to a wall and also adapts to flat panel TV swing out arm-style wall mounts so that the speaker angle changes with the TV angle. Supplied adjustable feet permit easy shelf mounting when the speaker is used in the horizontal center-channel format.

"the sound quality is something I never thought I would be able to achieve..."

My living room is approx. 21X18 and is attached to the kitchen so it is very open. Sound was a major concern for me so I purchased a Bose V30 which I thought would take care of the open space. My only thought was "This sounds like a $250.00 system that they sell in Wal-Mart! I ended up taking it back and ordering the Mythos 8's. I was orginally going to purchase the Pro 1000 system which sounds fantanstic but when I saw the Mythos 8's I knew they would look great. I ended up purchasing a Denon Receiver 3808CI along with 3 Mythos 8's (Front, Center, Left) one supercube III, and 2 Gem Xl's for the surround. All, I can say is money well spent. Music sounds crisp and clear, NO distortion at all! Movies are unreal, the sound quality is something I never thought I would be able to achieve with that much open space. It trully sounds better than any movie theater I have been in. If you have the funds I highly recommend these speakers. They look great and sound fantastic. Another plus is that they come with mounting brackets so consider than when looking at the cost of buying brackets seperately.
