Mythos One Tower Loudspeakers rise dramatically from Tempered Glass Bases that include carpet spikes and rubber feet for stability on any type of floor surface. Nothing complements your new high definition flat screen television with more style, versatility and sheer performance than the beautiful Mythos Series models.
Superior Quality Components
Each Mythos One contains a D'Appolito array consisting of two high-definition 5-1/4" (13cm) midrange drivers surrounding a 1" (25mm) dome tweeter housed in a sealed enclosure. The drivers feature die cast Aluminum baskets, mono-polymer cones and Finite Element Analysis optimized magnet structures for clear low distortion life-like sound. The drivers are pressure-coupled to two 5-1/4 inch (13cm) planar Low-Bass Radiators for a total bass radiating surface greater than that of a 10 inch (25cm) conventional woofer. The result is exceptional bass extension and power not normally found in slim on-wall loudspeakers. The bass roll-off of the Mythos One is smooth and controlled, allowing it to seamlessly blend with a powered subwoofer, such as Definitive's SuperCubes, for audiophile-grade home theater power and precision. The array's 1 inch (25mm)Pure Aluminum dome tweeter produces extended highs that reveal nuance and shimmer without a trace of edginess.
Mythos Series enclosures are hand-polished gloss Black aircraft-grade extruded aluminum with proprietary damping technologies that ensure total rigidity. All components are mounted on a resonance-free PolyStone baffle. These rock-solid construction technologies along with state-of-the-art drivers and tweeter serve to deliver classic Definitive Technology sound quality: wide soundstage, pinpoint imaging, high dynamic impact, and superb realism.
"I was astonished by the detail and accuracy."
Wow! I had been satisfied with my large DBX soundfield 5 main speakers (with 5 drivers ranging from 15-inch woofers to a ribbon tweeter), but my wife wanted to replace them with smaller speakers. When I auditioned the Mythos One mains with Mythos Three center channel using familiar recordings of demanding music, I was astonished by the detail and accuracy of these speakers. After I brought them home and listened to them in my usual surroundings, I was even more impressed. The sound images were so natural, I was transported to the studio. Not only are the Mythos accurate, but they also have remarkable dispersion. When I'm NOT in the sweet spot, there is still great stereo effect and realism. Finally, although my former speakers had a broad frequency response, in my large great room I experienced very bad acoustic nodes where the standing waves alternately enhanced and then attenuated the sound as I walked around during playback. Although one cannot entirely eliminate room acoustics, I noted how much LESS the anomaly appeared with the Mythos speakers. I'm convinced that their rigid enclosures help to minimize spurious standing waves and improve sonic accuracy. In summary, I'm absolutely delighted with the Mythos' performance and realism, and
"The quality and sound are amazing."
I just purchased two Mythos One Tower speakers and I must tell you that this is the best audio investment I've ever made. The quality and sound are amazing. I cannot pull myself away from them. Each time I listen to them, they seem to sound better and the sound I was missing with my other speakers is outstanding. I want to purchase two more for my rear surrounds. I'm hooked, and I'm sure that when my friends hear them, I will be the envy of them all!
