A Special Subwoofer Designed for a Special Place
When the pipe organ in New York's historic Trinity Church was damaged beyond repair by contaminants from the World Trade Center collapse, organ manufacturer Marshall & Ogletree designed a state-of-the-art electronic organ that would sound just like a pipe organ. Definitive's bipolar towers were chosen to replace the pipes (one for each organ pipe). But what speaker could reproduce the ultra-deep bass of the longest organ pipes? It normally takes a 5' x 5' x 8' subwoofer enclosure; could Definitive's engineers design a subwoofer that could produce over-the-top bass in a more reasonable enclosure size?
Yes they could; and the SuperCube® Trinity Signature was born. It delivers outstanding low frequency performance which heretofore has not been available in such a compact enclosure. Capable of prodigious output (in excess of 128 db at 20 Hz and 116 db at 16 Hz in a normal room) the Signature is also quick and highly detailed. It may be used vertically or positioned on its back when custom installations call for it.
The Signature Subwoofer for the Finest Systems
You may not have a room as large as Trinity Church but you might want the absolute last word in bass power and definition for an audio system of the absolute finest quality. If you are assembling a reference home theater system with a high definition video projector or monitor along with an audio system that exceeds the sound quality and sheer visceral impact of premiere movie theaters, then this is absolutely the subwoofer for you. The Trinity Signature incorporates two 14 inch SuperCube® Technology drivers pressure coupled to four 14" Ultra Low Bass Radiators. The total piston area of this complement is an astonishing 920 square inches; equivalent to a 48-inch diameter woofer but with far greater speed, musicality and control than a single large diameter woofer could ever deliver. With that much moving driver area, you can fill a room as big as a church with loud, visceral, deep and musical bass.

Music Lovers Rejoice
Subwoofer manufacturers are always talking about how "explosive" their subwoofers are (frankly so do we), but there's more to home entertainment than rocket blasts and explosions—there is music, be it in the movies you watch or the CDs you enjoy. And for music the quality of a subwoofer's performance is way more important than the quantity. The bass should be "tight," precise, and musical. Bass notes should have pitch, not just a dull thud or drone. Definitive Technology was started by and is run by music fanatics and the very first thing we do to evaluate a subwoofer prototype design is to listen to music. If a subwoofer doesn't do an exemplary job with music reproduction, it isn't a Definitive.
Massive Power
The Trinity Signature is powered by a 2000-watt class D amplifier. The result is astounding high-definition bass performance extending effortlessly to 10 Hz. Each SuperCube® Trinity goes lower and has more dynamic impact and output capability than two SuperCube Reference subwoofers combined. Slam, pace and rhythm are exemplary as is the ability to actually shake foundations. A complete complement of inputs and controls are included on this surprisingly compact and stylish cube. To top off the extraordinary performance, the Reference is finished in gorgeous piano-gloss black.
High-Definition Subwoofer Drivers Deliver Superior Detail and Lightning-Fast Response
The powerful, high-definition drivers used in all Definitive powered subwoofers were specifically engineered for their task: to deliver rock-solid low distortion bass, reaching down to the lowest subsonic frequencies, with an outstanding quality of superior transient response ("tightness"). The special ultra-stiff cones are joined to specially formulated surrounds and long-throw voice coils and spiders. The incredibly rigid baskets are engineered to hold the massive magnet structures and large voice coils in absolute alignment. The high temperature voice coils are made of aluminum wound with triple insulated ultra-pure copper wire and baked in epoxy for exceptional power handling.
Rock Solid Cabinets Ensure Pure Low Distortion Response
The cabinet of a loudspeaker plays a large part in its sonic performance. Resonance and vibration can add unwanted distortion as well as drain away important energy from the system. Definitive's subwoofers utilize monocoque cabinets, which have been specifically engineered to be totally inert and vibration free, to ensure you of absolutely pure sonic reproduction. Monocoque means that the cabinet is of a unitized construction where all panels are permanently joined together into one solid structure. The cabinet walls themselves are high-density medite fused together by space-age polymer adhesives. The front and rear panels are nearly 2-inches thick and the cabinets each incorporate multiple internal braces to ensure total solidity.
Adjustable Electronic Crossovers Assure a Perfect Match to Your System and Room
In a world class audio system you should not be able to perceive that the subwoofer and main speakers are separate entities—they should "blend" together perfectly to present a seamless sonic image of musical instruments and sound effects hovering in space in front of or around you. Getting such seamless blending is the "holy grail" of audiophiles and is rarely achieved in most systems. The key to success is "tweaking" the subwoofer's controls and it is here that the SuperCube Trinity shines. The sophisticated low distortion electronic crossover incorporated in the Trinity is a masterpiece of design and execution. It contains a complete range of hookups, circuitry and features which allow it to be connected to and perfectly blended with any system and room.
A continuously adjustable low pass filter control allows you to choose a high frequency roll-off of from 40 to 150 Hz. It also features a rarely found high pass filter control that allows you to roll off the bass of your main speakers when the main speakers are connected through the subwoofer. Along with a continuously variable phase alignment control and a precision level control you have all the necessary tools at your disposal to achieve absolutely seamless blending between main speakers and subwoofer.
A Full Range of Inputs and Outputs Facilitates Easy Hookup to Any System
The SuperCube Trinity Reference has a complete range of inputs, outputs and features to allow easy and effective hookup to any system either singly or in a stereo pair. Both speaker level and low-level inputs are provided as well as a separate direct-in LFE low-level input (which bypasses the crossover network) which may be used by itself or in combination with left and right channel high- or low-level inputs for the ultimate in subwoofer flexibility and performance.
STUPENDOUS!!! SPECTACULAR!!! LIFE ALTERING!! SENSATIONAL!! Theater is where I focused on when purchasing this killer sub. However, when I started listening to my CDs, I was pleasantly surprised when I was, to my surprise, reacquainted with all of my music in a much more vibrant way. Spent hours basking in the wonderful musicality "Da Trinity" brought to my home theater.. The drums/base riffs in all of my music selections absolutely floored me!! IT WAS INSANE!! This sub is GINORMOUS in every acoustical way you can imagine. Every track I jammed...beit rock, jazz, country and even opera was an emotional new experience for me. Every track placed me front and center. Every movie I popped in created an avalanche of goose bumps down my spine. This monolithic wonder revived my HT. A FANTASTIC sub!!!! I love the way it wrung every ounce of acoustical nectar from my CDs/DVDs!!! THANK YOU DEFTECH for resurrecting my entire disc collection. Hefty price but worth every penny. POWER,FINESSE, BRAWN, BRAINS, VELVETY...just some adjectives that rush to the forefront to try to describe this magical BLACK CUBE that breathed new life into my HT experience.
I placed it two inches from the front wall just to the left of My 71 inch LG plasma and KABOOM!!! My HT was complete. My buck stops here. This monolithic monster is NOT for sissies, really. This unrelenting behemoth will puree your bone marrow, dislodge your grandfather's pace maker & fillings and even rattle your neighbors pots-n-pans, if that's your thing. :) Never has any one HT component made such a dynamic difference or given my cheeks (the ones on my face) cramps from smiling so much. Pretty sure the ones south of my buckle weren't also enjoying themselves with the sweet slue of subharmonic waves bombarding my HT chairs at reference levels. :)

"the perfect subwoofer for the perfect price"
I've had many subwoofers all considered to be of the highest quality such as: Klipsch Ref, Rel, Sunfire, Val, Par 15", Elf 18, the list goes on. After thousands of dollars waisted and many years of searching I finally found the perfect subwoofer for the perfect price which is the "Definitive Trinity". In my opinion this sub is the pinacle of subs. It can take all of my abuse with ease, no over excursions, no booming, no rattling just plain old mean deep, tight, low base. I love my music and movies from incredable drum rolls by Phil Collins to earth quakes. I'm using two McIntash MC 400 x 2 amp, one McIntash MC 500 x 1, Denon processor, and Klipsch Ref speakers all around. A match made in heaven. After putting the awsome systym together and finally finding a sub that can stand out from the rest with ease is a dream come true, I really mean this. I've had so many subs that could not withstand my demands and got many excuses of why the sub's couldn't. I recommend this sub to anyone who is serious about their music and movies this sub will rock your world and end your searches for the perfect sub.

"all the bass you could imagine but with precision and speed."
What can I say? I replaced 8 , yes 8 Nelson Reed 12" subs for this monster. Everybody complains about the size of this sub but for me, it is less than half the size of my old ones. Straight out of the box, this sub was amazing. Pure, clean and low bass. You will hear such low bass from recordings that you never even knew was there. I just finished watching "I, Robot" last night and there are a couple of scenes where my door actually fluttered, so I installed some weather stripping this morning. It's fairly easy to get a huge amount of bass. I could ,say, get two Kicker Solobaric-X 18 inch subwoofers and drive them with a huge amp. The result would be tons of bass with no control or quality. What Definitive did is create a sub that pours put all the bass you could imagine but with precision and speed. You really need to give this sub a listen before you buy anything else. Sure, you could spend 3 or 4 times as much and pick up a JL Gotham, but wouldn't you rather get the Definitive and, say, a nice used car? I highly recommend this sub for those on the quest for greatness. I also just purchased a second Trinity for my other room. The list that I now own is 2 Trinity subs, pair of BP7002, pair of BP7006 and a CLR3000 center channel. My next pair will be the BP7000SC towers. I can't wait! Thanks Definitive!!!!

My new Def Techs are fabulous! Combined with my Denon AVR and DBP, the sound separation is incredible. Combining components from different types of Def Tech speaker systems optimized room accommodation. Both music and movies sound phenomenal and have never sounded so impressively real and life-like! Def Tech speakers deliver precise and succinct highs, mids, and lows. The Trinities are so efficient, exact, and powerful. Bass response is clean and fast. Def Techs effectively perform according to DSP configuration and adjustment. Upon demonstrating the performance of my new Def Tech speakers, I have caught my friends either with a big smile or their mouths open. I am very satisfied with the sound and performance of my Def Techs. They are the best!!! I prefer to watch Blu-Rays at home than at the theater.
